What is Dare to Lead™?

Designed by Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirical-based leadership program designed to teach individuals, teams, and entire organizations the research-based skill sets of courage that turn you into a braver, more daring leader.

Participants come away with powerful new language, operationalized values, and practical tools to better lead. This research-driven, courage-building program is built on a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable and observable. They include: rumbling with vulnerability, living into our values, BRAVING trust, and learning to rise.

Leadership is built over time.

We can help you get there.

With so much on your plate, designing a leadership program for your organization may be the one thing that keeps getting pushed down the list. Let us take it off your list and create a program perfectly suited to the needs of your business.

Leaders are not having the tough conversations. Not because they don't want to, but because they don't have the tools to lead with courage and show up with their entire being. It is time to choose courage over comfort. Growth over business as usual.

Dare to Lead™ is not a cookie-cutter, fill-in-the-blank leadership development program. It is, rather, based on Brené Brown's approach to empowering people, finding common ground with others, believing everyone has the power to make a difference, and grounding on a strong sense of self-worth.

Bringing Dare to Lead™ into your organization is an important step in cultivating brave leaders who will humanize the work while delivering upon business goals and objectives. According to Brené, these are the type of future leaders that organizations must have in order to navigate the political realities, digital transformation, and speed of change that organizations face.

Key Learnings:

  • Enhance Communication
  • Resolve Conflict
  • Unleash Innovation & Creativity
  • Cultivate Trust & Teamwork
  • Build Organizational Alignment
  • Operationalize Company Vision and Values
  • Facilitate Conversations on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Trust is earned in the smallest of moments. It is earned not through heroic deeds, or even highly visible actions, but through paying attention, listening, and gestures of genuine care and connection.

Dare to Lead™ Workshop

In this 3-day workshop, participants dive deep into the complete Dare to Lead™ program, removing the armor that has held them back and mastering the skill sets of courageous leadership. This workshop teaches the foundational skills that enable leaders to do the hard things that they must do but often avoid — initiate difficult conversations, make the best decision even when it’s unpopular, and choose what is right over what is fast or easy.

Offered as both a public or private workshop. Teams joining a public workshop can work together during breakout groups and discussions to encourage learning that can be collectively taken back to the office.

Private workshops can be customized to meet the needs of the department, team, leadership program or organization.  Participants will leave with practical tools supporting a transformational leadership journey both personally and professionally.

Ideal Participant: Individuals, groups, teams, HR departments, employees responsible for L&D
Timeframe: Three days for full workshop and to become Dare to Lead™ Trained. Private workshops can be modified to fit organizational schedules.

Next public workshop: June 17, 18 & 19, 2024

Client Testimonials

“I felt stuck in my evolution as a leader of a large, experienced team. I was at a point in my leadership where the tools I relied upon in the past for effective facilitation, inspiration, and meaning were not moving my team and I in the direction I envisioned in my head. I was responsible for their individual and collective development. There was great potential in my team that I was leaving on the table. Meanwhile, I was stretching myself beyond a sustainable capacity."

Peggi, Houston ISD

“I use a different lesson almost every day! Understanding "Stormy First Drafts" helps me whenever I'm dealing with conflict, as does understanding how to mitigate the barriers to reckoning with emotion. "Clear is Kind" is what I say to myself every time I communicate with a colleague, friend, or family member. There are countless ways that I use what I've learned, but I think the biggest one is that you need to be "in the arena" to claim your wins and own your losses; I can't live my life as a spectator! "

Angelie, NeuroLeadership Institute
